Juz 30
He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away (1) from a blind man who had come up to him. (2) But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- (3) Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? (4) As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), (5) Unto him thou payest regard. (6) And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. (7) And he who comes to thee eagerly (8) and in awe of God (9) you ignore him. (10) No indeed; it is a Reminder (11) So whoever wills may remember it. (12) (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, (13) Exalted and holy, (14) borne by the hands of scribes, (15) Noble, virtuous. (16) Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! (17) Of what did He create him? (18) Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, (19) He makes his path easy for him. (20) Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. (21) and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, (22) By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. (23) Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. (24) That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, (25) and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, (26) Then We cause to grow therein the grain, (27) And grapes and fodder, (28) Olives and dates, (29) And gardens of dense shrubbery (30) and fruits, and pastures, (31) A provision for you and for your cattle. (32) But when the deafening cry shall be sounded (33) upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, (34) Mother and father, (35) his wife and his sons: (36) Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. (37) Faces on that Day shall be beaming, (38) laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. (39) but others will be gloomy (40) Covered with the blackness (of shame): (41) those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. (42)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
