He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, (1) Because the blind man came unto him. (2) for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, (3) (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. (4) Yet you pay attention (5) Unto him thou payest regard. (6) Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). (7) And to him who came to you eagerly (8) and fears (Allah), (9) you pay him no heed. (10) No indeed; it is a Reminder (11) So whoever wishes may remember it. (12) In honored books, (13) Exalted, purified, (14) By the hands of scribes. (15) Noble, virtuous. (16) May man be slain how ungrateful he is! (17) Of what thing did He create him? (18) From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, (19) Then He makes the Path easy for him; (20) Then He causes him to die and be buried. (21) Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). (22) Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. (23) Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: (24) It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, (25) and let the earth to break open (26) And caused to grow within it grain (27) And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle), (28) and olives, and palms, (29) And garden-closes of thick foliage (30) And fruit and grass - (31) [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. (32) Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), (33) it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, (34) his mother, his father, (35) and his consort and his children; (36) Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. (37) on that Day some faces will be beaming, (38) Laughing, rejoicing. (39) And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, (40) Blackness overcoming them. (41) These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. (42)
Almighty Allah's Truth.
