He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, (1) from a blind man who had come up to him. (2) And what do you know, he may be of the pure! (3) or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. (4) But the self-sufficient, (5) to him thou attendest (6) Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). (7) But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] (8) and in awe of God (9) Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, (10) Not this way this is the advice. (11) So whoever wishes may remember it. (12) (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, (13) Exalted, pure. (14) (Written) by the hands of scribes- (15) Honourable and obedient. (16) Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. (17) Of what substance God created him? (18) From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. (19) Then He eased the way for him; (20) then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, (21) Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. (22) No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. (23) Then let mankind look at his food - (24) That We watered it in abundance. (25) And We split the earth in fragments, (26) And We made corn grow, (27) And grapes and herbage (28) And Olives and Dates, (29) and dense-tree'd gardens, (30) And fruits and grass, (31) as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. (32) And when the Blast shall sound, (33) On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, (34) And his mother and his father, (35) his consort, his sons, (36) on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. (37) Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). (38) Laughing, rejoicing. (39) And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; (40) and covered by darkness. (41) Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. (42)
Almighty Allah's Truth.
