He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away (1) Because the blind man had come in his august presence. (2) And what would make you know that he would purify himself, (3) Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? (4) But the self-sufficient, (5) To him do you address yourself. (6) And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself (7) And as for him who cometh unto thee running, (8) and fears (Allah), (9) From him will you divert yourself. (10) By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: (11) So whoso wills may give heed to it. (12) [It is recorded] in honored sheets, (13) lofty and pure, (14) borne by the hands of scribes, (15) noble and pious. (16) Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. (17) From what has God created him? (18) From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, (19) and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. (20) and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; (21) Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) (22) No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. (23) Then let man look to his food, (24) how We pour down rain in abundance, (25) and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; (26) then caused the grain to grow out of it, (27) and vines, and reeds, (28) And olives and palms (29) and gardens dense with foliage, (30) and fruits and herbage, (31) (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. (32) Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), (33) The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, (34) and from his mother and father, (35) And his spouse and his son-- (36) on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. (37) Some faces on that day shall shine (38) laughing and joyful, (39) And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, (40) and covered by darkness. (41) Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. (42)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
