Juz 30
He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and then turned away (1) when the blind man approached him, (2) How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, (3) Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? (4) As for him who was indifferent, (5) To him do you address yourself. (6) What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). (7) But as to him who came to you running. (8) and who has fear of God, (9) Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, (10) Assuredly this is a reminder (11) and whosoever wills, shall remember it. (12) On honoured leaves (13) exalted, purified, (14) [borne] by the hands of messengers (15) Noble and dutiful. (16) [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! (17) Of what thing hath He created him? (18) From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, (19) and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. (20) and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; (21) and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, (22) Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. (23) Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: (24) It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, (25) Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, (26) how We made the grain to grow, (27) grapes, vegetables, (28) And olive-trees and palm-trees (29) and dense-tree'd gardens, (30) And fruits and herbage (31) In order to benefit you and your cattle. (32) But when the deafening cry comes, (33) On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, (34) Mother and father, (35) his wife and his sons: (36) Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. (37) Many a face will be glittering on that day. (38) and be cheerful and joyous. (39) some faces on that day shall be dusty (40) and covered by darkness. (41) These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. (42)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
