He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, (1) Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. (2) But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? (3) (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. (4) As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, (5) To him do you address yourself. (6) And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself (7) but as for one who comes to you, eagerly (8) And is also fearful (of God), (9) you pay him no heed. (10) No indeed; it is a Reminder (11) (and whoso wills, shall remember it) (12) [It is recorded] in honored sheets, (13) Exalted, purified, (14) (Written) by the hands of scribes- (15) noble and purified. (16) Perish Man! How unthankful he is! (17) From what substance did He create him? (18) From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; (19) Then maketh the way easy for him, (20) then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, (21) then, He will raise him when He wills. (22) Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. (23) Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: (24) We poured down rain abundantly, (25) Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) (26) Then We cause therein the grain to grow, (27) And grapes and fodder, (28) olives, dates, (29) and dense orchards, (30) And fruits and grasses: (31) A provision for you and your cattle. (32) So when the deafening Shout arrives, (33) it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, (34) his mother, his father, (35) his consort, his sons, (36) For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. (37) Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, (38) and be cheerful and joyous. (39) And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. (40) and veiled with darkness. (41) They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. (42)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
