81 The Rolling
Al-Takweer
Juz 30
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, (1) And when the stars darken, (2) When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); (3) And when full-term she-camels are neglected (4) When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); (5) and when the seas boil over, (6) When souls are reunited (with the bodies) (7) questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, (8) For what sin she was slain. (9) when the records of men's deeds are laid open, (10) The curtain drawn back from the skies, (11) when Hell is set ablaze, (12) And when the garden is brought nigh, (13) then, each soul shall know what it has produced. (14) So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) (15) Who move straight and stop. (16) And by the night as it departs; (17) And the breath of morning (18) Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. (19) who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, (20) obeyed, moreover trusty. (21) And your companion is not gone mad. (22) he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; (23) He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. (24) Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. (25) Where to are you then heading? (26) It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, (27) For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, (28) And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. (29)
True are the words of God the Almighty.
