Al-Mutaffifeen
Juz 30
The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [those who give less in measure and weight (decrease the rights of others)], (1) Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, (2) And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. (3) Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again (4) (To be raised) for a Great Day? (5) The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? (6) No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. (7) and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- (8) It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). (9) Woe on that day to the rejecters, (10) who cry lies to the Day of Doom; (11) No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. (12) [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" (13) They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. (14) No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. (15) and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire (16) and be told: "This is the [very thing] to which you were wont to give the lie!" (17) No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. (18) And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? (19) A record [indelibly] inscribed, (20) To which bear witness those brought nigh. (21) Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, (22) (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, (23) upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. (24) They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. (25) The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. (26) and whose mixture is Tasnim, (27) A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. (28) Verily those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, (29) And winked at one another as they passed by them; (30) And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. (31) And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. (32) though they were not sent to be their keepers -- (33) But on the Day [of Judgment,] they who had attained to faith will [be able to] laugh at the [erstwhile] deniers of the truth: (34) as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). (35) Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? (36)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
