The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, (1) And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. (2) And when the earth is flattened out, (3) And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. (4) and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! (5) O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. (6) he who is given his record in his right hand (7) he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, (8) and shall return to his people joyfully. (9) But he who is given his ledger from behind his back (10) Soon will he cry for perdition, (11) And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. (12) He used to live joyfully among his people, (13) for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. (14) Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! (15) I swear by the afterglow of sunset, (16) or by the night in which things all come together to rest, (17) and the moon when it grows full, (18) that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. (19) So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, (20) and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ (21) Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. (22) Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. (23) Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] (24) Except those who believed and did good deeds for them is a reward that will never end. (25)
Almighty God's Truth.
