The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, (1) and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; (2) And when the earth is flattened out, (3) And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. (4) and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! (5) Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). (6) And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, (7) shall be called to an easy accounting, (8) And will return to his people full of joy. (9) But he who is given his ledger from behind his back (10) He shall presently call for death, (11) And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. (12) Verily he was among his people joyous. (13) and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. (14) But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. (15) I swear by the twilight; (16) And by the night and that which it driveth together, (17) And by the moon when she becometh full. (18) That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. (19) What is the matter with them, that they believe not? (20) and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ (21) In fact the disbelievers keep denying. (22) Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. (23) So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, (24) Except those who believed and did good deeds for them is a reward that will never end. (25)
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
