86 The Comet
Al-Taareq
Juz 30
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); (1) And what will make you know what the comer by night is? (2) (It is) the star of piercing brightness; (3) There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). (4) So let man see from what he is created! (5) He was created from a fluid, ejected, (6) emanating from between the loins and the ribs. (7) God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). (8) upon the day when the secrets are tried, (9) (Man) will have no power, and no helper. (10) So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, (11) and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, (12) surely it is a decisive word; (13) it is no merriment. (14) Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; (15) And I plot a plot (against them). (16) So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. (17)
Almighty God's Truth.
