Juz 30
Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); (1) Faces on that Day shall be downcast, (2) Labouring, wearied out, (3) about to enter a glowing fire, (4) They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, (5) No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' (6) Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. (7) (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, (8) well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, (9) in a sublime Garden, (10) They shall hear therein no vain discourse; (11) Therein shall be a spring running! (12) raised couches, (13) And cups put in place (14) cushions ranged, (15) and carpets outspread. (16) Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? (17) And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- (18) and how the mountains were firmly fixed? (19) And at the earth, how it is spread out? (20) And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: (21) You are not over them a controller. (22) However, those who turn away and disbelieve, (23) him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: (24) Lo! unto Us is their return (25) and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. (26)
True are the words of God the Almighty.
