89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the daybreak (1) And [by] ten nights (2) The multiple and the one, (3) And by oath of the night when it recedes (4) Is there in that an oath for the mindful? (5) Dost thou not consider how thy Lord dealt with (the tribe of) A'ad, (6) (And) the tall giants of Iram? (7) The like of which were not created in the (other) cities; (8) And with the Thamud (people), who cut out (huge) rocks in the valley?- (9) And (with) Fir'aun (Pharaoh), who had pegs (who used to torture men by binding them to pegs)? (10) [It was they] who transgressed all bounds of equity all over their lands, (11) and exceeded in corruption therein. (12) Thy Lord unloosed on them a scourge of chastisement; (13) Lo! thy Lord is ever watchful. (14) As for man, when his Lord tests him by honoring him and favoring him, he says: 'My Lord, has honored me' (15) But when he tries him and stints for him his provision, then he says, 'My Lord has despised me.' (16) But nay, nay, [O men, consider all that you do and fail to do:] you are not generous towards the orphan, (17) nor do you urge one another to feed the needy. (18) and you devour the inheritance with greed, (19) and you have a love of wealth which can never be satisfied. (20) Nay! When the earth is pounded to powder, (21) and thy Lord comes, and the angels rank on rank, (22) and Gehenna (Hell) is brought near on that Day the human will remember, and how shall the Reminder be for him? (23) He will say: Ah, would that I had sent before me (some provision) for my life! (24) So on that day, no one punishes like He does! (25) And His bonds will be such as none (other) can bind. (26) Serene soul, (27) return to your Lord, well-pleased, well-pleasing. (28) And enter among My [righteous] servants (29) "And enter you My Paradise!" (30)
Almighty Allah's Truth.
