89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the (particular) dawn. (1) By the Nights twice five; (2) And by the even and the odd, (3) Consider the night as it runs its course! (4) Is there (not) in these an adjuration (or evidence) for those who understand? (5) Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad - (6) the people of the huge columned city of Eram (7) The like of which were not created in the (other) cities; (8) And (with) Samood, who hewed out the rocks in the valley, (9) and with Pharaoh of the [many] tent-poles? (10) led rebellious lives, (11) And who then spread a lot of turmoil in them. (12) and therefore thy Sustainer let loose upon them a scourge of suffering: (13) for, verily, thy Sustainer is ever on the watch! (14) As for man, when his Lord tests him by honoring him and favoring him, he says: 'My Lord, has honored me' (15) But when He trieth him, restricting his subsistence for him, then saith he (in despair), "My Lord hath humiliated me!" (16) Nay! But you treat not the orphans with kindness and generosity (i.e. you neither treat them well, nor give them their exact right of inheritance)! (17) And urge not on the feeding of the poor. (18) and you devour the inheritance with greed, (19) and love the riches, loving them ardently. (20) Nay! When the earth is pounded to powder, (21) and [the majesty of] thy Sustainer stands revealed, as well as [the true nature of] the angels; rank upon rank? (22) And when hell is brought that day on that day will man reflect, but where is the time now to think? (23) He will say: "Oh, would that I had provided beforehand for my life [to come]!" (24) On that Day no one will punish as He punishes, (25) And His bonds will be such as none other can bind. (26) 'O soul at peace, (27) return to your Lord well pleased with him and He will be pleased with you. (28) So enter among My servants, (29) enter My Paradise! (30)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
