89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of the (particular) dawn. (1) and the ten nights, (2) And by the even and the odd, (3) And by the Night when it passeth away;- (4) Is there in that an oath for the mindful? (5) Did you not see how did your Lord deal with (the tribe of) Aad? (6) Who were very tall like lofty pillars, (7) The like of which were not created in the land? (8) And with Thamud who carved rocks in the valley; (9) (Also consider the people of) the Pharaoh who victimized people by placing them on the stake, (10) who all were insolent in the land (11) spreading in them much corruption? (12) So your Lord poured a scourge of punishment over them. (13) Truly your Lord is ever watchful. (14) As for man - when his Lord proveth him and so honoureth him and is bounteous unto him, then he saith: 'my Lord hath honoured me, (15) But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me." (16) But no; you do not treat the orphan honourably, (17) And do not urge one another to feed the needy. (18) And ye devour heritages with devouring greed. (19) And you love wealth with much love! (20) Nay, but [how will you fare on Judgment Day,] when the earth is crushed with crushing upon crushing, (21) when your Lord comes down with the angels, rank upon rank, (22) And on that Day hell will be brought [within sight]; on that Day man will remember [all that he did and failed to do]: but what will that remembrance avail him? (23) He will say: "Ah! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my (Future) Life!" (24) But on that day shall no one chastise with (anything like) His chastisement, (25) none shall bind as He binds. (26) O satisfied soul, (27) "Come back thou to thy Lord,- well pleased (thyself), and well-pleasing unto Him! (28) Enter among My servants (29) yea, enter thou My paradise!" (30)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
